Here we are looking at a mind-woven piece. What was going through the weaver’s mind? Note the repeating flower motif running through the two small guard borders, and the spandrels that abandon their usual corner role and reach into the field to meet.
The weaver had no fear of breaking classical design rules, which is why this feels like a truly unique work of art. After seeing it, you might say that art and fear do not belong together.
