Presenting an exquisite tribal runner from the villages of Hamadan province in Persia. This piece features a large geometric medallion at the center, flanked by two smaller medallions filled with nomadic motifs like birds. The vibrant and lustrous red background shines brilliantly, complemented by various colors used in the borders and field. You’ll also notice dazzling turquoise hues in some of the intricate details.
With a highly practical size of approximately 2.5 feet in width and around 9 feet in length, this runner is ideal for narrow spaces like hallways, kitchens, or even beside the bed. Such authentic narrow runners are quite rare at times. The pile is made of hand-spun wool, which is thick and substantial, offering a wonderfully comfortable feel underfoot. The quality of this piece is excellent.
This is truly a work of art that expresses the emotions of the talented weaver from that time and place. Very charming piece, and I hope you’ve fallen in love with it just as I have.
